ETRM Technical Architect

My client is about to enter an exciting phase of its IT development. Over the past few years it has rolled out a number of ETRM locally to London and recently begun a global Energy implementation. In addition to this it has begun big data and algo trading initiatives as well as investing in cloud infrastructure. The vacancy calls for a hands-on manager with C#, Python, Cloud and Trading experience and expertise to help define and implement the companies technical architecture road map for the next 5 years.
The role of Software Development Manager/ Architect consists of the following responsibilities:
- Work closely with the IT management team and technology specialists to define and implement architecture that will meet the client group needs for the next 5 years
- Hiring and leading team(s) of software developers, acting as team player, mentor and ultimately making decisions on behalf of the team(s)
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Identifying and using new, up-to-date technologies to perform coding at topmost performance
- Distributing development work to development team(s)
- Develop bespoke software solutions using .Net C#, SQL Server and associated technologies often centred around our ETRM trading platforms
- Envisioning possible solutions to anticipated problems Experience as a lead technologist/architect within a trading organisation the candidate will have:
- Hands-on experience with a combination of the following: C#, .NET, SQL/NoSQL, React, BigData platforms and AWS/Azure/GCP/ Alicloud
- Experience in agile development methodologies
- An Understanding of ETRM systems beneficial
- Experience with data warehousing and reporting beneficial
- Cloud implementations
- Big data solution implementation
- Algo Trading and Front Office/ Quant development
- Worked in autonomously and in medium to large teams
- Experience of working with Internal/External consultancy experience with multiple partners
Education/Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a related field.
- Self-starter/able to work with limited guidance
- Able to identify and deliver process improvements
- Ability to prioritise issues and manage stakeholder expectations
- Actively manage risks and issues
- Demonstrable experience of contributing to complex projects/initiatives
- Able to meet tight deadlines and negotiate in a pressurised environment
- Strong facilitation and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills e.g. written, verbal and presentation
- Able to cope with rapid business growth and a pressurised environment
- Motivated, tenacious and pro-active in achieving results
- Diligent and dependable with strong integrity
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
