Gas Technical Business Analyst and Developer - Houston

Overview:

Our client is a global leader in commodity trading with a physical presence in the Houston area. They are looking for a Gas Technical BA & Developer for their IT department to work on capability building and support of the front office. This is a permanent position, but it can also be undertaken as a contract with the view to become permanent.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst & Developer with a strong background in gas commodity trading. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy markets, commodity trading processes, and the ability to analyse complex data to drive informed business decisions, as well as recent hands-on application development experience. This role will involve collaborating with traders, cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and IT professionals to enhance trading strategies, optimize processes, and contribute to the overall success of their commodities trading business. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Capability building of the existing ETRM
  • Application development outside Allegro to support ETRM
  • Provide and improve efficiencies, develop applications and provide support for the front office
  • Working directly with traders, operations and deals desk
  • Front office (Trading) and Risk focused position

Experience required:

  • Gas business analytics experience - minimum 5 years
  • Hands-on development experience in the field of RAD (Rapid Application Development - Agile methodology)
  • Recent involvement in delivering application solutions
  • Experience with ETRM functionality (Allegro is a plus)
  • .NET, C#, Java, SQL
